Great day volunteering with Chako’s CGC Shelter Dog Program! I worked with Sahara ID#A352390 and Coconut ID#A346900.
Sahara is so sweet and gentle, and super squishy! She just loves attention and hugs. I do need to be careful when correcting her though because she can be a bit sensitive. We will work on that! We practiced sitting and learning to “stay”. It was a little difficult at first as most new things are but once she got the hang of it, she did really well. She is eager to please and very, very mellow. I think she would be a great dog for a family with gentle younger children, especially given how soft her mouth is. She isn’t quick to grab treats or rough at all and that is something you want to consider when adding a dog to a household with kids.
Coconut is full of energy and ready to play! She is more independent than Sahara and a lot more confident. She is very smart, too. She had been in the program longer than Sahara and already knows sit, stay, come, and down. I would love to see her be adopted by someone who hikes and goes camping, I can see her having a blast doing those things or even just jogging every day.
