Georgia had a nice run along the levee, just look at that happy tongue!
After that, I went down to Old Sacramento for a “Meet the Breed” event. I figured it would be good to show that not all Pit Bulls are carriage-horse-eating monsters and that responsible owners use leashes. I pitched the idea to Chako and we got together a group of responsible owners and breed ambassadors and we walked the boardwalk and around the Plaza. We were actually stopped by a few people and little crowds would form, with people asking us all kinds of questions and loving on the dogs. It was pretty awesome and I was happy when I left because I think we just might have changed a few minds and got a little education out there along the way. Public outreach is a pretty awesome thing.
Atlas and Percy were wonderful as usual, and we had a good walk. I’m really loving these two!
Now, the not-s0-happy part.
I got to Leo’s house and it was dark inside and I just got myself all disoriented and didn’t make it to the keypad in time. Maybe the neighbor’s thought Santa’s sleigh had gotten REALLY loud? I finally got everything squared away and while it felt like it took hours, it was really a couple minutes, if that. Leo took his insulin like a champ and then we did chores and then I got to give Leo lots of pets and watch him roll around in his cuteness. Happiness restored.
Sammy and Maggie were great, and no cats went out or came in.
