We offer cat sitting, dog sitting, dog walking, care for rabbits, chickens, rats, fish and more.
I was alerted a few weeks ago that Teryx might not be so good around cats. So when we walked by Beer’s Books today, I was careful to be extra cautious when I noticed a cat sitting in one of the boxes of books that are in the bargain bins outside. I was proud of Teryx for walking by calmly and not really paying much attention to the cat.
Suddenly, the cat gets up, jumps out of the box and starts straight for Teryx. I thought maybe the cat was just super friendly to dogs but since Teryx doesn’t feel the same towards cats, we walked a little faster. Well the cat had other things in mind, the faster we walked, the faster the cat walked. She got about 4 feet away from us, and I’m turning Teryx’s head to redirect him and the cat starts hissing!
A man walking by commented that he wouldn’t believe it if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes – the cat had gone out of her way to challenge Teryx.
An employee (maybe the owner?) came out to see what was going on; he explained that Raffles hates dogs and has been known to chase them clear down the street.
Well Raffles, if you are ever in Curtis Park, I know a certain ninja lizard eating cat that you should meet.
That’s Raffles in the 2nd picture from the left, valiantly guarding her store.
