Oddly enough, it was Theodore and not Ellie that seemed most upset today. Both doggies are very timid as mom explained to me (and I witnessed at the initial consultation). However, mom was expecting that Theodore would be more welcoming. Ellie didn’t even bark at me, although she maintained her distance. And she even reached her head toward me to take a cookie. Of course, she didn’t go so far as to take the cookie and I left in next to her in bed, but the fact that she came so close was quite an impressive feat from what I’ve seen so far. Theodore growled but I was able to get everyone pottied and cared for without incident. Kittens are great; I hung out in the den for a bit in case they wanted attention but they were too busy doing important kitten things.
Chanel and I enjoyed the amazing weather and had a great walk, for the most part.
I nearly had a heart attack when an irresponsible owner had their small black dog loose in their garage. It came at us so fast, I couldn’t be sure if it was a Boston Terrier or a Pug (maybe a mix?)but it came flying out from under a car, growling, lunging, and snapping at us. I put my body in front of Chanel and was ready to spray it but the owner came out and called it off, apologizing over and over. I was so angry and upset that I just glared and didn’t say a word. I wonder if her apologies would have helped if a dog fight ensued, or if I had been so scared (and I nearly was) that I fell over and injured myself. I was shaken for several minutes after. Can you imagine if I was a disabled and/or older person and not so sure on my feet? I could have seriously been hurt.
This is not cute or funny, lady. It’s irresponsible and dangerous. Keep your dog contained before you catch a lawsuit or your dog gets injured. The next dog walker might not be quick enough to keep their dog from defending itself from yours and although I can see your under-20lb dog has the heart of a lion, his body doesn’t match and an altercation is likely not to end favorably for him. If you don’t care about my safety, please at least love your dog enough to properly contain him.
