Shordey is being so bad!!! Oh, that naughty little boy, I tell ya! I turn my back for one second and he took Lil Kitty’s food off the counter and started chowing down. Of course, I couldn’t stay angry for longer than a millisecond. I mean, just look at that sweet little squishy face….
Princeton is in the running for Best.Kitten.Evar. He is hilarious! We played tag again today and he runs and jumps at me and chases me and attacks my shirt and legs, he is just one fun little guy.
Bowie (brown/white Pit Bull) stopped by for some picture taking. He is available for adoption through Chako Pit Bull Rescue & Advocacy. Ollie (black/white Pit Bull) was returned to Chako by the family that adopted him and he is once again available for adoption.
Apparently, he wasn’t properly supervised and had escaped the yard on numerous ocassions. They had also stopped walking him and he started chewing things up to relieve his boredom. Rather than take advantage of all the supportive services Chako offers to it’s adoptive homes (for the lifetime of the dog), they simply surrendered him back to us.
If I sound irritated and disgusted, it’s because I am. I just don’t understand how people can do this kind of thing. They’ve had him a few months now and all the issues they’ve been having are very simple to fix and we would have provided those fixes for free. What makes it even more disappointing is that these people have children.
What lesson are they teaching them? When the going gets rough, you simply push your responsibility onto the next person? Mind you, had they reached out to us and at least tried to work with him and weren’t getting anywhere, I’d understand. But they didn’t. We did several follow up calls and even visits and they always acted like everything was great. I’ll probably never comprehend the hows or whys of it, and I just hope that the next family that adopts Ollie is his forever family because the little guy has been through a lot in his short time on earth and he deserves to be amongst people that can appreciate all he has to offer.
Speaking of heinous (previous) owners, Calvin is also back for a little visit. That would be him, with no ears. Calvin is also available for adoption, if you are interested, let me know!
