We offer cat sitting, dog sitting, dog walking, care for rabbits, chickens, rats, fish and more.
Where’s Luli? She’s in there, I promise! We had another bit of a struggle getting out to walk today but when we came back, Luli started prancing around and running up to me. She even let me sidle up to her on the couch and give her lots of pets. My heart just about melted when she rested that little head in my palm. I knew she’d come around!
Later in the afternoon, I headed on over to County of Sacramento Animal Care and Control on Bradshaw to take photos of our CGC Shelter dogs there and assist with pulling Junior. Well, Junior’s pull took longer than planned so I’ll have to go back for pictures of Patch and Jack. But it will be well worth the second trip out. You see, Junior was on the euthanasia list.
Junior was unfortunately involved in an attack by another dog. The other dog was the aggressor. You can see some of Junior’s wounds on his side in some of the photos. After the attack, Junior became temperamental around other dogs and started to show signs of kennel stress and he was deemed unadoptable and moved to Isolation and placed on the euthanasia list. Roland (another volunteer) did a full behavioral evaluation on Junior and found him to be very stable with humans and selectively reactive with other dogs. Chako was able to find a foster home for him and Roland and myself were there to witness Junior being freed from certain death.
Happy day, all around! If you are interested in adopting Junior, or know someone that may be, please share this blog post with them, visit our facebook page at www.facebook.com/chakopitbull, or email adoptions@chako.org.
