Your Sacramento Pet Sitter
(916) 585-3182
We offer cat sitting, dog sitting, dog walking, care for rabbits, chickens, rats, fish and more.

Okay, pet stories first and then, if you are so inclined, you can read on for why the blog was late yesterday.

I’m happy to report that Goma has an appetite now. I’ve been mixing her canned food with the rotisserie chicken I bought for her and then heating it up in the microwave. It takes her a while, but if I put the food in front of her and wait quietly, she dives in and licks the bowl clean. Spooky has been demanding chicken as well, so he also gets a serving.

Ah, Dodger….well yesterday, we head home after our walk and I open the door and the dumb blue ball is right in front of the door. Dodger goes rampaging toward it, with my hand still holding the leash. My hand bangs into the door jamb, which resulted in swelling, a cut, and quite a bit of pain. If the neighbors complain about the crazy yelling lady, that would be me. I finally get inside, holding my bloody hand between my legs and trying to assure Dodger that I’m not mad at him as it was my fault for not making sure the ball was out of sight. Naturally, Dodger wasn’t even aware that my hand almost fell off and he was just sitting there with his big goofy smile and that darn ball in his mouth. Since Dodger requires two hands on the leash and I was still icing, his next walk was given by my Assistant Sitter, Adam. It actually worked out well because Adam had the time to give Dodger an extra long walk, which I think he really needed. Everything was back to normal by the next visit.

I had Roxy, Maggie, and Georgia walks today too. These ladies are all a challenge on leash so I’m not always able to get photos; today was one of those days.

Rocketman is hanging in there; he even came up for sink water. Ruda is outside and I didn’t see Hermione.

Indie is still working on trusting me and I’ve found that she really seems to enjoy just laying beside me on the couch and getting pets, she hasn’t shown interest in playing but she may as time goes on.
Miko , Otto, and kitties are all just fine. It was nice to see their faces again!

As for the late blog… many of you are aware of my ongoing internet issues. I currently do not have internet at home and my desktop has the dreaded Blue Screen of Death. I’ve been posting my blog through the WordPress app on my Android phone which has been working okay except I have to use cell phone camera pictures.

Yesterday, I go to charge my phone and it won’t charge. As the battery goes to red, I’m frantically trying and retrying connections and running around the house to try different outlets, thinking it might be my outlets. I finally determine the trouble lies with the phone itself and watch it die, helpless to post my blog.

Today, I take the phone to the store and am told that the charger port has malfunctioned and they will have to order me a new phone, which should be here in 3-5 business days. Trying my best to not become an irate customer, I explain that I cannot be without a phone for 3-5 days because I have a lot of pet parents that need to reach me. The representative then (thankfully) offers to sell me a battery charging dock. Cool beans as I can now charge my battery apart from my phone and I get an extra battery to boot. But wait! I get home and go to plug my new battery in only to find that the usb cable that is used to connect the charger is not working either. Cursing the techno gods that obviously have some sick vendetta against me, I prepare to break into tears but I have pets waiting and there is no time to wallow. Fortunately, my son’s usb cable appears to be doing the job, albeit slowly.

Tonight, I’m posting from my netbook in front of FedEx-Kinko’s since I took all the photos on my regular camera today.
I plan to pass right out as soon as my head hits the pillow tonight.
