Rocsi was awesome today – I think this was our best walk yet! She was full of energy and ready to go. Of course, being Rocsi – she did have to lay down in the shade for a few minutes, but it was just for a little bit and then she was ready to hit the pavement again.
Bridgette took her meds much easier this time, I think holding her on the recliner was the trick! I made sure she got lots of pets afterward, to let her know that I’m not all bad.
Ryce and I wanted to go over the overpass but some people were walking their two dogs off-lead. We chose to avoid a possible confrontation and took a different route – and then saw the people walking the same way! Grrrrrr. Leash your dogs, please! Even if you think your dog is friendly, other dogs might not be. Also consider that there are people that are deathly afraid of dogs – part of being a responsible owner is ensuring that your dog is not a nuisance to others. This is why I always pick up the slack in the leash when others want to walk by, I move myself and the dog out of the way for people to pass, and I don’t allow doggie introductions when out on a walk. The safety of my doggie clients is of the utmost importance to me and I’m not willing to take any chances.
