We had a rather leisurely stroll today, perfect weather for doing so.  We just kind of milled around and ended up where we ended up with no specific destination or direction in mind. No Smoke today, couldn’t get the kid out of the house =/

Since it wouldn’t be a Whit-walk without some kind of goofiness…

She stuck her nose in this cactus that is growing in a front yard, then proceeded to pop up about 2 ft straight in the air when it defended itself.

 We continued on our journey when she suddenly bolted forward, I quickly looked around but couldn’t figure out what she had seen at first. She leaped into the air and then I figured it out – she was chasing …(wait for it)…a bird’s shadow as it flew overhead. Classic Whitney move right there!

We are now rounding the corner back to home when she lays down. Just like that. Just plops right down on a patch of grass. To chew a random stick. I know she’s a suspected German Shepherd mix, I would like to suggest that the other part of that equation is beaver.

As for the sly Mr. Jax, he was sleeping soundly in the bed again. I gently lifted his warm napping body (with much verbal protest, I might add) and shooed him off to explore. Remind me to bring my mace next time I’m there. I’m pretty sure he has it in for me now.
